Highlights
MyVetLink now lets you upload health documents that weren't issued through GVL — like paper CVIs, EIA/Coggins certificates from other platforms, rabies certificates, and vaccination records — directly to your animal's record. Uploaded documents appear in the Health Documents tab alongside your GVL-issued certificates, so you have your animal's complete health history in one place.
Anyone with Owner or Agent access to an animal can upload, download, and delete documents for that animal.
Step-by-Step Instructions
How to Upload a Document
- Log in to MyVetLink and select the animal from your dashboard.
- Navigate to the Health Documents tab on the animal's record.
- Click Upload Documents.
- Select the file from your device
- Accepted formats: PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, HEIC, Excel, DOC, and DOCX
- Files must be under 20 MB.
- Select a Document type from the list (e.g., CVI / Health Certificate, EIA / Coggins, Rabies Certificate, Vaccination Certificate). If your document doesn't fit a category, choose Other. A document type is required to complete the upload.
- Complete the upload. Your document will appear in the Uploaded Files section, below your GVL-issued certificates.
Downloading or Deleting a Document
In the Uploaded Files section, each document has two actions:
- Download (download icon): Saves the original file to your device.
- Delete (trash icon): Removes the document from the animal's record.
Important Notes
- Deleting is immediate and permanent. There is no confirmation step or undo. If you delete a document by mistake, you'll need to upload the file again.
- Documents are tied to one animal. If the same document applies to multiple animals, upload it separately to each animal's record.
- File names can't be edited. Your document displays with its original file name. To change the name, delete the document and re-upload a renamed file.
- Your clinic does not see uploaded documents. These are managed by you, not your veterinary clinic, and don't require clinic approval.
- Visible to all owners and agents on the animal. Anyone with Owner or Agent access to the animal can view, download, and delete uploaded documents.
- No expiry tracking. Uploaded documents don't have expiry dates or reminders — you're responsible for keeping track of document validity.
- Upload limit: Each animal's record can hold up to 50 uploaded documents.
- Mobile friendly: You can upload from your phone's browser, including HEIC photos taken on an iPhone.
