How to add your horse’s temperature onto an EECVI Permit within MyVetLink

Creating EECVI permits is only available to you in MyVetLink (MVL) if your veterinarian has issued an EECVI for your horse. See the list of participating states here.

You should take the temperature before each trip to ensure it reflects the horse’s current health status. Follow the steps below to add the temperature onto an EECVI permit within your MVL account:

  1. Log in to your MVL account
    1. If you don’t have an account, sign up here.
  2. Go to Certificates and locate your horse’s EECVI
  3. Click Actions → Create permitScreenshot 2025-06-26 at 10.29.25 AM.png
  4. Fill in the required fields, including your horse’s temperatureScreenshot 2025-06-26 at 10.29.38 AM.png
  5. Click Finish permit to generate the document
  6. Download the completed travel permitScreenshot 2025-06-26 at 10.29.49 AM.png

Important notes:

  • A normal resting temperature for an adult horse typically ranges from 99°F to 101.5°F. If your horse’s temperature is outside this range, consult your veterinarian before traveling.
