Step 1 — Wait for your EECVI confirmation
When your veterinarian has completed your EECVI, you will receive an email from no-reply@globalvetlink.com.
Step 2 — Log into MyVetLink
Log in at www.myvetlink.com under the animal owner and horse photo.
Step 3 — Locate Your Certificate
To find your certificate, search the animal's name in the search bar (helpful if you have multiple animals). From there, you have two options:
- Select the animal's name to open its profile, then under Health Documents, select Actions → Create Permit.
- Select Certificates and choose Actions → Create Permit on the far right.
Option from Certificates - Select Certificates from the menu, then choose Actions → Create Permit on the far right.
Step 4 — Enter the origin address
Enter the required information to create the permit. The origin address is where the animal is leaving from, such as a boarding facility.
Note: The horse's temperature must be taken within 7 days before travel.
(A normal resting temperature for an adult horse typically ranges from 99°F to 101.5°F. If your horse’s temperature is outside this range, consult your veterinarian before traveling.)
Step 5 — Enter the destination address
The destination address is where the animal will be going. Once all information has been entered, select Finish Permit.
Step 6 — Commit the permit
After clicking Finish Permit, you will be prompted to Commit the permit. By doing so, you are verifying that:
- Your horse is healthy
- You will travel with your permit and official ID information
- You have been made aware of any travel restrictions
If all of the above is true, click Commit.
Step 7 — Print your permit
Once committed, print out the permit and carry a printed copy with you during travel. You will also need to carry a printed copy of your Coggins along with the permit.
Important: A new permit is required for each leg of the trip, as well as any time you are stopping overnight.
