What is the new MyVetLink?
The new MyVetLink is a modernized version of the original MyVetLink platform, redesigned to give animal owners and agents more control over their animal records while keeping veterinarians informed and in charge of approving any changes to sensitive data.
The new version launched on May 26, 2026, and introduces a refreshed user experience, updated account management tools, and new workflows for creating and updating animal information.
What is New in MyVetLink
Modernized Interface
MyVetLink now features a cleaner, more intuitive design. Your role relative to each animal (such as owner or agent) is clearly displayed, and you can search for animals and view a centralized list of certificates all in one place.
Updated Account and Login Options
MyVetLink now uses a new authentication system that supports:
- Social login via Gmail or Facebook
- Account migration for existing users, so your animal data carries over automatically on first login
- An updated profile section where you can manage your contact information, update your email address, and change your password
More Control Over Your Animal Records
You can now create new animal records, upload photos, and request updates to existing animal information directly within MyVetLink. This reduces the need to contact your clinic for routine changes.
Veterinary Review Process
To protect the accuracy of animal health records, veterinarians retain approval authority over changes to sensitive fields. When you submit a modification request, it will appear as pending until your veterinarian reviews and approves or declines it.
How It Works
Creating a New Animal
You can add a new animal record at any time. You do not need to provide all the information upfront. You can add images and link the animal to a specific clinic that has granted you access. Because this creates a new record rather than modifying existing data, your changes are reflected immediately. Your veterinarian will be notified to review and acknowledge the new record.
Requesting Changes to an Existing Animal Record
You can propose updates to existing animal records, such as changing an animal's name, gender, photo, or identification. Here is how the process works:
- Some fields, like an animal name, update immediately without requiring vet approval
- Changes to sensitive fields like gender or identification are marked as pending until your veterinarian reviews them
- Your vet can approve or decline changes individually or in batch, using a side-by-side view of the original and proposed data
- If a change is declined, the existing value stays in place and the pending status is removed from your view
Pending Changes and Official Documents
Any information that is pending veterinary approval will not appear on official documents or signed certificates. Until a veterinarian explicitly approves a requested change, the system continues to use the current, established values for that animal record. Veterinarians can still create documents for an animal while a modification request is under review using these established values..
Getting Started
If you already have a MyVetLink account, you do not need to re-register. Log in as usual and your existing animal data will be available. You will have the option to connect your account to a Gmail or Facebook login for easier access going forward.
If you are new to MyVetLink, you can create an account using your email address or by signing in with Gmail or Facebook.
